Pickpocket Thursday

This week's pickpocket surprise is a sweet little plastic rain bonnet, found in the pocket of a 1960s cape! These vintage ladies make the rain hat look glamorous and prove that you don't have to be a nanna to wear one. If you'd like a closer look at the cape, you can buy it on our ebay site here. Meanwhile, I will be testing out that rain bonnet outside in the miserable drizzly weather of Edinburgh this afternoon. Until next time, stay dry Pocketeers!

Pick Pocket Thursday

This week we found a crumpled school time table folded into the top pocket of this lovely blue blazer. This keen student seems to have a good head for mathematics, physics and computing and is evidently clever enough to earn her PREFECT badge but could she come up with a pop quiz as terrible as this one?

QUESTIONS
Q1. What is the quickest way to double your money?
Q2. What language do they speak in Cuba?
Q3. What is an archaeologist?
Q4.What holds the sun up in the sky?
Q5. What is the noisiest game?

ANSWERS
Q1. Fold it in half ! Q2. Cubic! Q3. Someone who's career is in ruins! Q4. Sunbeams! Q5. Squash - because you can't play it without raising a racquet!

If you read all five questions without navigating away from this page then you certainly deserve an A++.

Until next week Pocketeers... and tuck in your shirts!

Pick Pocket Thursday

Who ever said carols weren't cool? This Pick Pocket Thursday, we've come over all Christmasy! Humming 'Silent Night' in June is a little strange (and a guaranteed way to make people look at you strangely on the bus) but we can't help ourselves! It's all down to this weeks pocket discovery, a print out of the song "Our First Christmas in Heaven", found in this vintage leather jacket. Not one we were familiar with, it drove us to a little goggle search. Welcome to Christmas in June!

And if it leads to you looking up all your favourite Christmas hits, you have been warned! This cool Caroller is a inspiration to us all!

Pick Pocket Thursday

You better find you deer stalker hat and your magnifying glass, there's something fishy going on this pick pocket Thursday.... we seem to have uncovered a mysterious clue to what we suspect is a cataclysmic crime... a single pearl earring... rimmed in shimmering gold... tucked away in the corner of the detachable game pocket inside the lining... hidden in an old, worn Barbour jacket that appears to have scrambled through bramble-infested thickets and shadowy woodlands... who did the earring belong to?... where is its matching twin?... how did it end up in this jacket?... and most importantly...what has happened to it's owner???

We will not rest until we solve the crime! Stay tuned Pocketeers!

A Nude Portrait of Armstrongs!

She has illustrated the façades of some of Edinburgh's most iconic buildings and we are delighted to be included! She is currently exhibiting her work at the ECA Degree Show which is open until the 11th June. Have a look at her amazing work on her website...   www.eddenwallace.co.uk

Multi Colour Monarch

We're celebrating the glorious spectrum of shades worn by our multi-coloured monarch this Jubilee long weekend! This picture from British Vogue calculates the queens tonal preferences in a colour chart of percentages. She seems to capture the entire Derwent Pencil range (and she proves that black court shoes are a queen's best friend!).
