Pick Pocket Thursday

You better find you deer stalker hat and your magnifying glass, there's something fishy going on this pick pocket Thursday.... we seem to have uncovered a mysterious clue to what we suspect is a cataclysmic crime... a single pearl earring... rimmed in shimmering gold... tucked away in the corner of the detachable game pocket inside the lining... hidden in an old, worn Barbour jacket that appears to have scrambled through bramble-infested thickets and shadowy woodlands... who did the earring belong to?... where is its matching twin?... how did it end up in this jacket?... and most importantly...what has happened to it's owner???

We will not rest until we solve the crime! Stay tuned Pocketeers!

Pick Pocket Thursday

Bringing you the best pocket finds; It's pick pocket Thursday!

Although we didn't find a adorable lost puppy in a pocket this week, there's always next time!

This week we found:

A very sweet wedding toast,

"Ladies and Gentleman, It is my pleasure to propose a toast to the bridesmaids who have so ably attended the bride today. I am sure you will agree with me that these two charming young ladies have greatly enhanced the occasion and I would ask you to be upstanding and drink to the health of the bridesmaids."

With a first draft on the back, scribbled out sentences and spidery writing, it's easy to assume that this best man was a little nervous! A very nice pocket find indeed.

Until next week pocket-teers!

Pick Pocket Thursday!

Welcome to our new weekly feature, pick pocket Thursday! Every week, we'll bring you a picture of some of the fun, interesting and extraordinary things we find in the pockets of clothes. In the past, these have ranged from wedding speeches, money, false teeth, and theatre tickets. What will we find next?  You'll have to come back every week to find out!

 Today we found:

A order form for Tom C. Saville Ltd, a fishing supply store still in business today. It dates from 1971 and was unfortunately never used!  We also found some matches (still two in the pack) made by John Player Special cigarettes. A hastily scribbled note of someone's address was also in the pocket.  It's always great to find a date on something in a pocket, and it certainly makes dating clothes easier!

These little pocket treasures give us a small glimpse into the jackets previous owner, and a interesting look at a 70s fishing supply order form!

Until next week pocket treasure hunters!
